XAV: An Alien Romance (Pleasure Invaders Book 1) Page 5
“What are you laughing at, you pathetic frump? Get your arse in that house and give me my—”
A loud crash sent Gerti ducking as Xav ripped the door open, snapping the chain in two, and launched his fist into Charles’s jaw. The flap of hair glued to the top of his head went flying off as he tumbled into the small patch of lawn just beyond the walk. He clutched his face with both hands, dragging his rump against the grass like an animal with worms and staggered to his feet.
Her alien stood over Charles in all his naked glory, ready to launch into Gerti’s ex once again, but he melted into her grasp as she slid a hand over his. “It’s okay. Let him be.”
Xav’s gaze pierced hers, the intensity catching her off guard. “I sensed his disrespect, delicate one. And I will not stand for it. The male deserves to answer for his offenses against you.”
Breaking his gaze, Gerti again took in the poor excuse for a man she had once devoted her life to. Charles’s eyes were wild, staring directly at Xav’s massive member, the swelling already darkening around his eye. “You…you whore. This is what you’ve been doing? Paying a gigolo for sex? And what? Asking him to paint himself green? What kind of sick fantasy is this? Honestly, Gertrude. How pathetic can you get?”
Xav reared forward again, and Gerti put herself in front of them. Charles might be a sniveling little shite, but he was well funded and could easily call the police on them both.
She wouldn’t give Charles the satisfaction. He’d already taken so much from her. He could have whatever trinket he was convinced she’d been keeping from him. Anything to make him go away so she could crawl back into her alien’s arms and lose herself in him.
Because he was hers, and she’d do whatever she needed to keep him that way.
Chapter 8
Xav
His female took his hand and pulled him back inside the house. “You’re naked, Xav.”
“This is bad? I thought you enjoyed my body.” He did not understand. He wanted to pummel the tiny male human until he bled from every orifice, but his Gerti did not want that.
“I do.” She blushed, such a beautiful shade, he wanted to know if it spread all the way down her chest. “But outside, on this planet, people wear clothes.” Rising up on her toes, she brushed her lips to his, and an infusion of energy surged through him. If she kissed him regularly, he might be able to live outside his vessel. For days. Or even longer.
When she let go of his hand and turned away, Xav stared at the door. The male who’d disrespected Gerti so thoroughly cowered just outside. Baring his teeth, Xav drew up to his full height. “Do not enter, human. Not without permission. Or I will snap every bone in your pathetic body.”
The male sputtered until Gerti returned with a sheet in her hands. “Xav,” she said as she cupped his cheek. “Lift your arms.”
He did as his female asked, and she wrapped the white material around his body, working some magic so the sheet stayed up without him holding it. It only fell to the middle of his thighs, but it covered his member, and that seemed to be enough for Gerti.
“What is it you want, Charles?” Gerti’s face betrayed her emotions. Exhaustion. Impatience. Resignation.
“The fork. You stole it from me.”
“You pathetic twat,” Gerti snapped. “That’s what you’re on about?” She stalked over to the corner of the room and snatched a silvery item from a long, horizontal slab of wood on the wall. “Take your stupid fork.” She threw it at him, and narrow, bent pieces of metal sliced at Charles’s hand as he tried to catch the thing.
He shook the fork at her. “You’ll regret this, slag.”
The door slammed shut, and Gerti flinched. “I hate him.”
“Why did you not let me correct his behavior?” Xav gathered Gerti against him and relished the way she fit her body to his.
“We have laws here, Xav. You can’t just hurt people you don’t like. And Charles knows many people in high places.”
Xav stared down at her, confused. “What does height have to do with this? I am quite tall. Taller than he is.”
Throwing her head back, Gerti laughed and rested her hand over Xav’s heart. “Oh, my goodness. There is so much for you to learn about life here.”
Reaching out to sense her emotions, Xav frowned. His Gerti was suddenly unsure, almost afraid. “What is it, delicate one?”
“Will you...stay? Now that you’re stronger...you could go, right? Return to your planet? Or, maybe go searching for others like you? Were there women on your ship?”
Xav slid his fingers into her hair. It was so soft, and the scent reminded him of his home. “You are mine, Gerti. I do not wish to be without you. If you allow it, I will stay with you for the rest of my existence.”
Now, shock overwhelmed her. “Forever? Xav, how can you say that? We’ve known each other for a day. What if you meet another woman and decide you like her more?”
Scooping Gerti into his arms, Xav carried her back to her bedroom. “For my people, finding the one you are meant to be with happens here.” He placed his palm over her heart. “When I saw that terrible male disrespecting you, I knew. You are mine, Gerti. I will never leave you and I will never want another. It is impossible for me. My heart and soul are yours now and forever.”
Droplets perched on the bottom of her eyelids, and Xav brushed them away gently.
“Why does this happen?” Xav asked. “This water.”
Gerti sniffled. “Tears. Humans cry when we’re sad or happy. Sometimes when we’re mad or frustrated.”
Too afraid to sense her emotions, Xav held her gaze. “Why are you crying?”
“I’m so confused, Xav.” Gerti bit her lip and stared down at his hand over her heart. “I want you. I want you to stay with me. I never felt this way with Charles. But what if I’m wrong? What if you change your mind? I don’t know how I’d survive.”
“I will never change my mind.” Leaning in, he brushed his lips to hers. “Your energy fulfills me. Your smile brings me joy. With you, I have no need to return to my vessel.”
He was hard for her, his desire so strong, he could not stop himself from ripping open the sheet she’d given him, then parting her robe. “Xav...”
“Shh, my mate. Let me worship your body.”
“M-mate,” she stammered.
“Yes.” Fastening his lips around her pert nipple, he swirled his tongue. His Gerti moaned, and the vibrations warmed him, provided the comfort he so desperately needed. “I will always be yours.”
With his body wrapped around Gerti, Xav explored her generous curves, kissing his way down her stomach, to her mound, and finally, flicking his tongue between her slick folds.
“You taste of me, Gerti. Of us.”
She shuddered, clutching at his upper arms as she writhed under him. He could not hear her words. Not with his face buried in her sweet sex. He so desperately wished his senses had not been so damaged by the ancients.
Uncertainty flowed through him. Perhaps this was where her reluctance had come from. He was damaged. Less than acceptable. A lump formed in his throat, and he tried to ignore it to focus on Gerti’s happiness, on her release.
She screamed and bucked her hips, and her climax sent arousal flooding his tongue. So delicious, so perfect. Xav’s member throbbed, a drop of pre-cum shining on the tip as he flipped over and stared up at the ceiling. He would comfort his female, hold her until she slept once more, and then...should he leave her? Free her to be with someone…more worthy of her perfection?
“Come here, delicate one. You are chilled.” Xav pulled the covers up over them and wrapped her in his strong embrace. “Rest with me.”
“Xav?” Gerti pushed up on an elbow to look at him. “Is something wrong?”
“No, my sweet. Nothing.” Kissing her chastely, he closed his eyes and hoped she would do the same. If she pressed him, he would confess everything, and he did not wish to admit his fear that he would soon have to say goodbye to his mate.
If he had to do so, i
t would kill him.
Gerti
Something was wrong. Gerti could feel it in her bones—the way her Xav held her was all wrong. The change was subtle. A slight dimming of the fire she felt every time he touched her skin, but it was enough to set her on edge. She didn’t like that something was bothering him and she needed to fix whatever it was.
His broad chest rose and fell like he was in deep sleep, but the taut lines of his face gave him away.
With a timid hand, Gerti cupped the sharp angle of his jaw, unable to resist the urge to run her thumb along the curve of his lips. He was so beautiful.
Her green alien’s eyes opened, their brightness betraying his ruse. “Forgive me. I did not mean to disturb you.”
Gerti waited until his gaze found her lips. “You didn’t. I just couldn’t stop thinking about you.”
A sheepish smile pulled at his lips. “And I, you.”
“What is going on in that mind of yours? Please don’t let Charles sour your mood. He doesn’t deserve it. He’s caused enough pain already.”
Xav rose up on an elbow to peer down at Gerti, examining every aspect of her face. She loved the way he seemed to see into her, like he understood what dwelled in her very core. The person she was underneath it all. “That useless male is irrelevant, delicate one. It is my ignorance of your world’s customs that has left me unsettled.”
Gerti’s heart sank at the deep crease marring Xav’s otherwise smooth features. He was more than unsettled. He was afraid. But of what? And who?
“Those things can be taught. Very easily. There’s more to this. Talk to me.”
He looked away, and his obvious hesitance to answer tied her up in knots. “I am not worthy of you. I am damaged. How can I fit in with your world? My appearance is concerning to your kind, and I fear that my otherness will damn you to a life you do not wish to have. You deserve freedom. Intimacy without constraint. I do not know if I can give you that.”
His brazen honesty shocked her. Here he was…this superior being in every way, concerned with how his otherworldly exterior and lack of hearing would affect her. In that moment, all doubt of Xav’s commitment to her evaporated. He was hers. Her mate. He’d rather live his entire life alone and mourn her than risk being a burden.
“We’re all damaged, Xav. And I don’t give a damn what the world thinks. You hear me here.” She rested her hand over his heart. “You’re mine, Xav. Every single inch of you and I wouldn’t have you any other way.” Gerti pressed her lips to his, trying to silence whatever doubt might be hanging on in the back of his mind, and moaned as his massive cock hardened against her.
“I am yours, delicate one. Until my last breath.” Her massive alien cupped her ass, angling her hips so he could enter her, but just as he traced his finger over her clit to ready her, his stomach growled.
She giggled and pressed a chaste kiss to his lips. “Let me feed you first. Then you can ravage me.”
Gerti tried to slide out of bed, but Xav clamped a hand down on her wrist, holding her in place. “I do not wish to eat right now. Unless it is what rests between your thighs.” He pressed a hand to his belly when it growled again.
“I think someone else would beg to differ.”
“Someone else? It is only you and I here.”
A soft laugh escaped as Gerti shook her head. “No, no. I just mean your stomach disagrees with you. You’re out of your vessel, Xav. You need nourishment now.”
He frowned, pouting his lips in the most tempting way, then allowed Gerti to guide him into the kitchen. Still thick with need, Xav’s massive cock stood at attention, so much so that Gerti could hardly look away.
As she watched his green sex pole bounce with every step, the heat between them intensified and Gerti’s core warmed. “Is a sandwich okay?”
“I will consume whatever you deem acceptable.” As he tucked himself into a chair near the kitchen island, Gerti pulled out the bread and began searching for the Vegemite.
“Of course, you will. Because you’re amazing,” she muttered as she turned away, knowing he could not hear her. Never had she met a male—or any person—who was so easily satisfied. Gerti could feel his joy. The way his eyes held hers whenever they looked at one another screamed she was all he’d ever need.
If one could live off sex and sweat, the both of them would never come up for air again. The rest of the universe paused as she stole a moment to picture what her future with Xav could be like. She’d fancy spending the rest of her life with her alien, even if she was forced into isolation.
After spreading the Vegemite, Gerti turned, and the sandwich slid right off of the plate. Again, she was taken by the beauty of her alien. Xav’s muscles bulged as he stretched, reaching behind him to work out some sort of kink, and his cock was still fully erect even though she’d taken several minutes to prepare his food.
Good Gods, if he didn’t put on some clothes, they’d both starve.
“Delicate one, are you all right?” Xav asked, appearing at her side after rescuing the sloppy sandwich from the floor.
Another rush of need hit her straight between her thighs, and she bit her lip, struggling not to slide her fingers inside herself to quell the ache his absence had left.. “Come with me. We’re going to find you some clothes and then we’re going out. I can’t concentrate with you looking like that, and we both need to eat. If we’re in public, we’ll be forced to be proper. Green skin be damned.”
Xav’s brow furrowed, then a smile pulled at his juicy forest green lips. “My member is not what you are concerned about? It is my skin?”
“Well, no. It’s a little of both. Your…um…willy is very, very impressive, but you can’t exactly go around flashing your male parts all over town. But that is an easy fix, pants—like the ones that awful man was wearing, conceal everything underneath. Your skin on the other hand… No one on this planet is green.”
Xav leaned forward, kissing her, and she could almost feel the energy passing between them. His tongue tangled with hers, tightening her nipples, and when she pulled back for air, she gasped. No longer green, her Xav was now a deep shade of blue. Almost the color of the sky at midday.
She wasn’t sure if it was his act of altering his appearance or the shocking beauty of the blue, but she couldn’t take her eyes off of him.
“And this? Is this exterior acceptable?”
Oh, hell yes. Yes, it was. Gerti committed the image to memory. She’d be asking to revisit it later. Preferably when she had all night to discover just what heaven tasted like.
“You’re bloody beautiful, but people here aren’t blue either. Humans come in varying shades of pinks and browns. From very light to very dark and every shade in between.”
Again he pressed his lips to hers, this time teasing her entrance with the rough pad of his thumb. Her legs shook as he slipped between her folds with a feather light touch. “And now?” he asked, putting distance between them.
He looked…like a normal man. Well, normal wasn’t the right word. He was still exceptionally built and nearly seven feet tall, but he was far less noticeable. A fact Gerti found she didn’t like. She loved him green, in his natural state, and now that she’d seen him dull himself down…she knew. A male like him should not be forced to blend in when he so very clearly was as exquisite as they came.
“Promise me you won’t stay like this? You’ll return to yourself once we’re back home?”
“You may have me as you wish. I will deny you nothing.”
Gerti intertwined their fingers and led him to the bedroom where she retrieved some of her brother’s clothes he’d left the year before when he’d visited from the States.
She checked Xav over, giggling at the way this thick thighs stretched the cotton sweats at the seams. The bulge in the front was wholly inappropriate, but nothing a long coat couldn’t hide. It would work until she could get him something his own size.
“All right, my love. Let’s see if we can make it to the restaurant without mauling eac
h other.”
Chapter 9
Xav
Gerti fussed with the strange garments, and Xav wasn’t sure he could keep from ravaging her if she did not take her hands off of him. He felt stronger than he had in centuries, and with his Gerti at his side, he thought he might be able to remain free of his vessel permanently.
What of his brothers? To distract himself from his female, he tried to sense the others. A deep longing stirred in the back of his mind, a familiarity. Kek. He lived. Somewhere.
“Xav?” Gerti reached up and cupped his cheek, and he stared into her eyes. Worry churned in the green depths. “Are you all right?”
“I want you, my sweet one. For so very long, I was lost. Starved. And now, you are a feast.”
“There’s more to it than that. You’re sad.” She rose up on her toes and brushed a kiss to his lips. “Why?”
“My brothers. I do not know where they are or even if they all live. But I believe I can sense one of them. Kek. His energy is so very faint, but…”
“Where? Is he close?” Gerti drew back, and Xav could sense her excitement. “We could try to find him.”
“I do not know.” The sadness threatened to consume him, and he extricated himself from her arms. “We should find nourishment, my sweet Gerti. Perhaps, if I strengthen, I will be able to form a stronger connection with Kek…or the others.”
Gerti nodded and pulled on a coat. Hand in hand, they walked down the street, Xav careful to maintain his new skin color so that he could blend in with the rest of the humans. Despite his efforts, though, he was much taller than most of the other males. Gerti didn’t seem to be concerned though, and they continued down several streets until she pointed to a building with a glowing sign on the top of it.
